How the New Zealand passport photo process works
A New Zealand passport photo is 35×45 mm on a plain light-coloured background, with a neutral expression and your head centred and facing the camera. The photo is built to spec and submitted with your New Zealand application to the issuing authority, which makes the final decision. New Zealand also lets you skip the print entirely: for online renewals you can upload a digital photo directly through RealMe, where the system checks it. Snapfora crops and sizes locally to 35×45 mm and flags head height and tilt, so you fix any framing problem before you submit rather than after a rejection. We build to the published spec but can't guarantee acceptance — the issuing authority does.
