Face the camera in even light, against the required plain background. Retake an unsuitable photo; do not digitally repair a U.S. passport photo.
Framing estimates help you inspect a photo. They cannot verify every requirement or predict acceptance. Check the issuing authority’s instructions.
Create a 2 × 2 inch print crop or a photo sheet. Keep the original appearance and background. Print at 100%, with fit-to-page disabled, then measure the result.
Paper-photo instructionsUse your original, unedited photo. We can check file format and size; the official application handles repositioning and cropping. Do not upload our print crop.
Online-renewal instructionsNo. Automated framing and image-quality hints are estimates. You must review the photo and the current official requirements. The issuing authority makes the decision.
Photo processing runs in your browser. The site downloads model files when needed, but does not upload the photo. Keep a separate copy of your original.
Choose the matching paper size, use 100% or actual size, and disable fit-to-page. A 4 × 6 inch file is 1800 × 1200 pixels at 300 dpi. Printer and lab settings can change the final size; measure the physical print before using it.
