How the Swiss passport photo process works
A Swiss biometric photo is 35×45 mm with the head filling 70–80% of the frame — about 29–34 mm from chin to crown, with roughly 5 mm of space above the head — on a plain light-grey background (not pure white). The same photo serves both the Swiss passport and the national identity card, must be taken within the last six months, and shows a neutral expression with the mouth closed. You bring the print to your application with the issuing authority. Snapfora crops and sizes to 35×45 mm locally and flags head height and tilt so you fix any problem before you submit, rather than after a rejection. We build to the published fedpol spec but the authority makes the final call.
